Name - - Laura Barrett - -About Laura Barrett is a freelance illustrator based in South East London. Since graduating from Camberwell College of Arts in 2007 she has been creating intricate silhouette illustrations for a variety of clients. Her work has been commissioned within the fields of publishing, editorial, packaging, advertising and animation. Influenced by the darker side of folk and fairy tales, Laura's work explores the use of narrative through the medium of silhouette. Although her illustrations are created digitally in Illustrator using a graphics tablet, her work retains a traditional, handcrafted quality. Laura's work has been featured in Digital Arts, MacUser, Varoom, Inside Out magazine and The Mix Future Interiors. Laura is represented in the UK by Eye Candy Illustration agency. SEPTEMBER 2011: A busy month, September also saw the release of the fabulous A Girl For All Time® historical series. I had the pleasure of working on several illustrations for the Tudor children’s novel ‘Matilda’s Secret’ and keepsake book, written by Sandra Goldbacher, along with packaging for the Matilda doll.
